clubRishta (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a matrimony / matchmaking service that helps individuals find a life partner. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have — including how to delete your account.

By creating an account you confirm you are 18 years or older and agree to this policy. clubRishta is not intended for anyone under 18.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account & contact: mobile phone number (used to sign you in via a one-time code sent over WhatsApp).
• Profile details: name, date of birth / age, gender, height, city and location, religion and community, mother tongue and languages, marital status, diet and lifestyle (e.g. smoking, drinking), education (qualification, institution, year), profession and employment sector, income range, family details, and a short “about you” description.
• Photos: profile photographs you upload.
• Partner preferences: the criteria you are looking for in a match.
• Identity verification (optional): government-issued ID or documents you submit to obtain a “verified” badge.
• Social links (optional): your Instagram handle and/or LinkedIn profile, if you choose to add them.
• Communications: messages you exchange with matches, and interests you send or receive.

Information collected automatically

• Device & session: device identifier, platform (Android/iOS), and login sessions, to keep your account secure.
• Usage: profiles you view, like, pass, shortlist or report, and matches formed — used to power discovery and matchmaking.
• Security logs: limited audit records of sensitive actions (e.g. sign-in, account changes) for fraud prevention and safety.

2. How we use your information

• Create and operate your account and profile.
• Sign you in securely using a one-time code.
• Show you relevant potential matches and let you connect, express interest, and chat.
• Verify identity and moderate photos to keep the community safe and genuine.
• Prevent fraud, spam, duplicate and fake accounts, and enforce our rules.
• Provide support and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Photo moderation & identity verification

Uploaded photos may be automatically screened (including by an automated content-safety service) to confirm they show a real person and meet our guidelines. If you opt into identity verification, the ID/documents you submit are used solely to confirm your identity and are handled as sensitive data.

4. Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to run the service:

• Other users: your profile (photos, details you provide, and a verification badge if applicable) is visible to other members as part of matchmaking. Your phone number is never shown to other users. Social links (Instagram/LinkedIn) are shared with another member only after you explicitly choose to share them.
• Service providers (processors) who host and operate the app on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations:
  • Microsoft Azure — application hosting
  • Neon — database hosting
  • Upstash — session/cache storage
  • Cloudflare — photo storage (R2) and content delivery
  • Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business) — delivery of one-time sign-in codes
  • Google (Gemini) — automated photo content-safety screening
  • LinkedIn — optional social profile verification, only if you connect it
• Legal: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

5. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove or irreversibly anonymise your profile, photos, preferences, messages, and identity-verification data. A limited set of security/audit records may be retained for a short period as required for fraud prevention and legal compliance, after which they are deleted.

6. Your rights & choices

• Access & correction: view and edit your profile information at any time in the app.
• Delete your account: you can permanently delete your account and associated data from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account), or by following the steps at clubrishta.com/delete-account.
• Withdraw optional data: remove your photos, social links, or ID verification at any time.

7. Security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to personal data is restricted, photos are served via short-lived signed links, and sign-in uses one-time codes with device-bound sessions. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

8. Children

clubRishta is only for adults seeking marriage and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; if we learn we have, we delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notified in the app.
